Coming to Canada

After a long morning of flights, I finally stepped through customs for my first time on Canadian soil to see four smiling faces holding huge signs with my name on them.  I knew right then that God had answered my prayers and given me an amazing team with whom to spend the next six weeks.  My feels were further reinforced when we immediately headed to IKEA to take "family pictures" (shown above). 

I already know that the Lord is going to challenge me and push me out of my comfort zone continually on this trip.  In many ways I came to this trip thinking that it would be an escape from everyday life and a time that I could spend alone with God.  I still think that, but I definitely had not anticipated being so challenged by the Lord on the very first day especially.  If God is already pushing and stretching me on my first night,  I cannot wait for what He has in store over the next six weeks because I know that spiritual growth in our team only means that He will be able to use us more to spread His love when we reach Brazil.
